MariaDB Python connector

Hi, I'm on 20.3.
Just installed MariaDB and DBeaver, and they connect perfectly.

Python 3.8.3 (in venv) cannot connect. Installed mariadb.connector following instructions in viewtopic.php?f=42&t=349215 (but cannot install libmariadb-dev) with no result.
The same with pymysql connector (no connection).

Anything else before going back to postgresql and psycopg?
