Handbrake 30sec delay to start unless run via sudo

Post by mttr »

Mint UNA Handbrake
I never had to run handbrake with sudo before but when installed either by flatpak or synaptic trying to run handbrake via the menu, or via terminal handbrake has a delay of 30 seconds before it starts. I have tried ver 1.3.1 and the latest 1.5 same thing.
The error I get is in the terminal

(handbrake:661726): dbind-WARNING **: 16:12:20.302: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

If however I run it via sudo it starts up in about a second.

Why would I want to run handbrake as a superuser.

Solved
Rebooted the system and now handbrake starts without root. Go figure.
