[SOLVED] Could not install security updates

Post by jave »

Hi
I have some updates to install. Firefox 96.0.2 and the Mesa drivers.
Get the message "Could not install security updates", even after I close down Firefox.
Any ideas?

This worked. Why it didn't work in the graphical updater I don't know.

I always refresh the GUI installer before installing updates. The graphical update tool is a GUI front-end to APT. Mainly I bypassed the GUI by using the APT. Why would this happen? It can be that the server (mirror) was down etc. If this occurs again let us know. there could be an issue with the mint update tool on your system.

I change my base server mainly cause the Ubuntu base server is not USA it looked to be in the UK somewhere. I change it to a server as close as I can get it which is never my state I live in. I did have a issue with Firefox not being able to download a month or so ago. I unchecked it and did the other updates that were listed. I waited a day and retried Firefox.
