OK, this may seem like not the forum for this but it seems like a MInt problem and not a LIbreOffice Writer problem.
I'm running MInt 20.3 Una. I keep it updated. I open a new document in LibreOffice Writer. Everything is fine. I close it and re-open it and it's now right aligned. The tool bar on the top of the document indicates it's still left aligned. And in fact even though the document is at the right hand edge of the window the text looks like it's left aligned. It's just sitting at the extreme right edge of the window. It's only been doing this for the past 10 days or so.
I am set up to dual boot into Ubuntu 20.03/4. Same version of LibreOffice Writer. There every thing works fine and there is not problem in Ubuntu. I tried it in Ubuntu 20.03 before I updated today. No problem. I updated to 20.04. No problem with Writer. So it only happens in MInt. And only very recently.
It's not the end of the earth kind of problem because I can use the slider at the bottom of the document screen to al least see what's written, but of course it's all sitting at the right of window. With the text left aligned!

I believe it will help getting your full system info report, and LibreOffice version you are using.

Re: LibreOffice writer won't left align in Mint works OK in Ubuntu
Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't seem to help anyone pose a solution. Should I add more details?
Re: LibreOffice writer won't left align in Mint works OK in Ubuntu
If I understand the description right, the left border in Writer is far too big. This setting belongs to the site template settings. You can open them from the template menu or by a left click on the 3rd part (from left) of the status bar.
Re: LibreOffice writer won't left align in Mint works OK in Ubuntu
I don't think there has ever been an Ubuntu 20.03 ........... you will find the numbers 4 and 10 after each version .....I tried it in Ubuntu 20.03 before I updated today. No problem. I updated to 20.04.
Ubuntu is now at LTS 22.04 (long-term support) and its next release will be 22.10 in October this year;

LibreOffice is now at 7.3 so you could install that; it might reset whatever is not set right for you; it has to be something within your settings of LO in Mint that is causing the issues; something you did; (unless others access your desktop);

Re: LibreOffice writer won't left align in Mint works OK in Ubuntu
Someone at LibreOffice community helped fix the problem. It's still weird that it happened in the first place.
So I'm marking this thread abandoned.

Not weird, but your first description lead me to the wrong track.
Look at the status bar. Near the right end, just left of the slider, you see some small icons with pages. Here you choose, if you want to get the view for a single page, 2 pages or a book (also 2 pages, but odd numbers on the right side).
