Nixnote 2 does not start any more

For a long time I have been using Nixnote2 without problems. Since today it does not start any more after an update of the system. When I start nixnote2, the mouse turns into a wheel turning. After some seconds it returns to be the mouse without the app starting. Any ideas?

When I try to launch it in the terminal, I receive the following:

I have already tried that. It does not solve the problem.

I am running LM Uma off a stick. After root does an apt-get update, I run apt-cache search nixnote2 and it was found. root then ran an apt-get install nixnote2. Still running off a live session, nixnote2 opens up without any hiccups.

You said you have just updated your system; why not get the latest and greatest nixnote2 that your setup will allow? Is there anything preventing you from doing that? Try it off a live USB of Mint if you still have one handy

Thanks, tried that and received the message, that the newest version is installed already.

I found that nixnote2 ran for me initially, but once it tried to synchronize my notes from Evernote, and crashed, it would not start again.

I purged nixnote2 and nixnote2-tidy. Removed .local/share/nixnote2/ and removed .config/nixnote2/. Reinstalled nixnote2. Started a sync.
When the sync got 56% done, my PC locked up and crashed, rebooted, appeared to make a core dump, and came back up again. I just
happened to be watching the screen when that occurred.

Running LinuxMint 21 Cinnamon, installed and was fully up to date. Nixnote2 Version: 202207181046~2.1.7~ubuntu22.04.1

Nixnote2 opened successfully after the system restarted. I started a sync again, and it finished, and is working correctly. I assume that something was corrupted in .local/share/nixnote2/ or .config/nixnote2/?
