Open directory in VS Code with keyboard shortcut

Post by RainyCityDiver »

I'm running Linux Mint 20.2 XFCE.

Right now I'm able to:
  • Navigate to a folder/directory in Thunar (file explorer)
  • Highlight a directory containing my project
  • Right-click
  • Open with >
  • VS Code
Is there a way to set a keyboard shortcut to open the highlighted folder/directory in VS Code? I want to set Ctrl + V + S to do this.

I found "Application Shortcuts" tab in the Keyboard menu and I can add a command code .but I'm not able to use Ctrl + V + S; it limits me to Ctrl + V. And anyway when I use code . it opens my user directory in a VS Code instance, not the directory that's been highlighted.

Thank you.
