Notepadqq anyone?

Post by MurphCID »

https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/notepadqq.html Apparently this is a pretty decent little application, but does anyone use something like this?

Hello, MurphCID.

If you search the forum for Notepadqq, it should return a list of 191 posts.
Admittedly, not all of these post, where the term Notepadqq occurs, will be about Notepadqq specifically; but quite a few should be. So quite a bit of stuff to read.
By the way, Notepadqq is the Windows editor Notepad++ transferred to the Linux platform.

This thread from page 2 of the search result, Notepadqq stability issues, might be relevant. And it is from 2021, so not too old.

Here is the Notepadqq homepage: Notepadqq
Here is the Notepadqq download: Notepadqq Download
Note that the existing Launchpad PPA is no longer recommended, because its does not seem to be maintained any longer.
Even the Github page, Github Notepadqq, looks as if Notepadqq maintenance got stuck or completely stopped in 2018.

Regards,
Karl

I tried Notepadqq a few years ago and did not like it.
It was very slow to open large xml and csv files and crashed several times.

Since then I have been using geany as my default text editor.
It's faster opening large files than Xed and has other features that I like.
