opening .pages file? (solved- easy solution)
Good morning. A friend sent a document in a .pages format. Can someone please tell me how I can open that? Thanks you. -Howard

Hi, it's a Pages.app's (Mac) file. Ask to send as .doc or .rtf or try with LibreOffice Writer.

you can rename it to .zip (e.g. example.pages to example.zip) and unzip it.
The unzipped files will include some PDFs and PNGs which is some of the text and image content of the document.
This worked for what I needed just now, but of course it is not as good as getting the file converted properly on a Mac.

An easy solution: I used https://cloudconvert.com/pages-to-docx to make the conversion from .pages to docx which libre writer was able to read. Thanks for your help. -Howaard
