I have moved up to kernel 5.16.5 with no problems. Any negative comments about moving to kernel 5.17?
Thanks

If it's working fine now what's the point? New kernels are really for new hardware, and as long as it works and it's still getting security updates you;re good.

"Kernel 5.17 on Mint 20.4?"
There is no "Mint v20.4". as the release pattern is... 20.0/20.1/20.2/20.3, then 21.0,21.1,21.2,21.3 and so on. so initial release, then three minor upgrades and then shifts to a major version upgrade. note: on the major version upgrades (20.x to 21.x) it's safest to clean install even though they do officially support a upgrade process. but your less likely to experience issues if you just clean install between the major releases.

You push on the wrong place. Kernel get provided by the base, that means Ubuntu. So you must ask there.
