pysolfc version is broken

Post by samac »

Hi
The version of Pysolfc included in Mint21 is broken. Please update the package to version 2.16.0 as this works with python3.
Thanks
samac

Pysolfc on mint 21

Post by Taff »

Just installed mint 21 and then pysolfc card games, which will not open, if I try it on command line, it tells me there is an installation fault.
I have uninstalled and installed twice, rebooted and no luck.
Has anyone had this and have any ideas please ?

I've merged your topic here as it's about the same thing. See above, this is a known issue.

The problem is that the repo version is from 2019. The issue was caused by a deprecated python package, which has been solved in more recent versions, as evidenced by the fact that there is now a snap package for Ubuntu 22.04 and 22.10. It would be very nice if someone would go create a .deb or flatpak package, as I am allergic to snap. I have also been told that the Windows version runs fine in WINE, which I am also allergic to.
