How do I fix the problem the last thing I did was upgrade from 20.3 to 21.
Thanks Jonathan.

The error is not really an error, but a warning only:

Code: Select all

W: http://ppa.launchpad.net/lutris-team/lutris/ubuntu/dists/jammy/InRelease: Key is stored in legacy trusted.gpg keyring (/etc/apt/trusted.gpg), see the DEPRECATION section in apt-key(8) for details.

Hi, folks.

2 ways of resolving are offered here: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2022/06/fix ... -on-ubuntu

Note:
The second (short & simple) solution is not the recommended way.
I am not quite sure that the first laid out approach is a recommended way.

Going through the comments on the page linked to above, I came across this link: https://www.linuxuprising.com/2021/01/a ... o-add.html.
This second page explains why both approaches mentioned above may still work on Mint 21 / Ubuntu 22.04 / Debian 11, but will stop to do so in future releases. And this second page also holds the instructions on how to add repo signing keys in the new secure way.

Regards,
Karl

okay now when checking for updates it say " Failed to download repository information "
and "W:GPG error: https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 4EB27DB2A3B88B8B, E:The repository 'https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable InRelease' is not signed."

Hello, shinmarwan.

I have to admit that I have not come across the signing key warnings myself, yet. So I have not had to troubleshoot on my own Mint 21 system. The reason might be that Mint 21 has been installed from scratch. Means it has not been upgraded in-place from Mint 20.3 to 21.

Karl
