Problems in console with dbus

Post by FarmerGuy »

Hello,

I am having problems running sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo apt-get install libimage-exiftool-perl

Something called dbus is not installed:
Package default-dbus-session-bus is not installed.
Package dbus-user-session which provides default-dbus-session-bus is not configured yet.
Package dbus-session-bus is not installed.
Package dbus-user-session which provides dbus-session-bus is not configured yet.
Package dbus-x11 which provides dbus-session-bus is not configured yet.

Do I just do sudo apt-get install dbus-session-bus?
Is there a correct way to resolve this please?
It's Mint Tara 19

I have the same problem. Occurred, broke gui, then even ctrl+alt+f2 failed. Fresh 19 install from disk because happening to a 32 bit system. sudo apt-get update && apt-get upgrade. dpkg, gconf2 errors, breaks gui, drop to terminal to diagnose.

Looking at viewtopic.php?f=47&t=301774&p=1686078&h ... s#p1686078 as solution. Following sleeper22 instructions.

So far seems to be working, trying to update again now.
