Solved *** update kernel 5.15.0-46 ends with error 1

Post by nekrub2 »

Having upgraded to LM 21.0 Cinnamon I made my first update (new kernel). This failed with the following error message:
dpkg: error processing package linux-image-5.15.0-46-generic (--configure):
installed linux-image-5.15.0-46-generic package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
linux-image-5.15.0-46-generic

This is what I could copy out of the update terminal:

Strange enough after the reboot I saw this kernel installed. Is there anything to worry about? What needs to be fixed?

Thanks for your help

Having downloaded and tried to install libssl1.1_1.1.0l-1~deb9u6_amd64.deb . I got the message: The same version is already installed.

The messages which happen before the libssl error are:

Code: Select all

I: The initramfs will attempt to resume from /dev/sda1
I: (UUID=60625308-4e03-43c4-a206-fdb15057c8f1)

See if this link helps How to set the RESUME variable to override these issues?

Those are not errors. They are warnings. Please see this topic Error while updating the system: for an explanation of the warnings.

It seems your original issue has been resolved.
