Editing bookmarks

Post by chiefjim »

I'm working on a project combining bookmarks from Google Chrome and FlashPeak Slimjet onto a single document. Some existing will get deleted while others are added or edited.

Thought I had the solution using LibreOffice Writer in HTML mode. At least until I tried to use it.

Using Slimjet I can open the file and it appears fine. Trouble comes when I want to import those bookmarks, then it shows just two url's.

Did I miss a step somewhere? Or is there a different application I should try?

Can you find a way to share the 2 bookmark files?
If you send them to me I can make them available for all.

In Firefox there is the library, which can import and export bookmarks; other browsers should have something comparible.

Yes. In the browser, on the upper right side of the browser window, there's a square box. Click the box to open the options menu.

I had exported the relevant bookmarks html files. Opened each using OpenOffice Writer html function. Cut and paste, edit, delete, etc as a new document. That document saved as html does not work properly if I try to import bookmarks file. But if I merely open the file and click a link the browsers accept all bookmarks without any hassle at all.

Question is why when imported they fail to work properly? Like two links instead of a whole page full.

Do your editing inside of the library. Either before you export or after you imported.
