howto use XCompose for superscript entry

Post by SaintDanBert »

I routinely use XCompose for frequent entry of special characters. Can someone tell me how to configure XCompose to create superscript or subscript characters. For example, if I type the digit '1' then META + 's' +'t' I would like to display "1st" where the letters are superscript. Also, if I type META + 'H' + '2' then 'O' I'd like to see the chemical "H2O" where the numeral is subscript. I know there are already short cuts for superscript 1,2,3 and a few others but Unicode seems to have those builtin.

Thanks in advance,
