(SOLVED) Google Chrome 104 ,how to roll back

Post by deepakdeshp »

Chrome was updated to version 104.x some days ago. I am running Mint 21 Cinnamon. Now I can't see the login prompt of this forum and not able to login. I feel by downgrading it ,it will be ok.
How do I downgrade Chrome?

Do you have a Timeshift snapshot of your system before you installed it and also a copy of your user info which matches the snapshot?

I do not use Chrome, but to revert Firefox I needed to have a user profile which matched the older version of Firefox. In Firefox, one can not user a user profile from a newer version of Firefox in an older Firefox install.

Thank you Susan. By clicking some links Chrome is working well now. I don't use Time shift but Clonezilla for backing up Linux.

Actually, Clonezilla would be better for reverting a browser because then you would be getting the correspondingly correct user profile because Clonezilla does the entire drive.
