Sound Problems with Asus C90S and Helena.

Post by Anaxis » Fri Dec 18, 2009 2:11 pm

My sound was working with Gloria, but after installing Helena, I'm getting nothing.

I've tried compiling ALSA drivers from source, with a successful readout, but no dice as far as sound.

lspci output shows my audio device, and alsamixer picks it up as a Realtek ALC883. I've added myself to the /etc/group in audio as well.

Is it something to do with the pulse in the /etc/group settings?

I know that if pulseaudio is using the audio group it can sometimes cut out, leading to reinstallation of the pulseadio packages, but as far as I know, that shouldn't cause my sound to not work at all...

Haven't made any progress since last night. Anyone?
