is everything safe in here (or which one is a virus)
Every one of those is an update to an existing package already installed on your computer.

The library for firmware updating is not a virus.
OpenGL which allows the graphics to work properly on your computer is not a virus.
The linux kernel is the heart of your Linux Mint install and its files are not a virus.

Your lack of trust is disheartening. This entire issue was covered in your previous topic how to search in "update manager". If you don't trust the answers in that topic, then why are you posting the same issue again? The answer is not going to change.

The connection between the repositories and your computer (in this case the update manager) are secured by a security key, which is mathematically not breakable. Nobody has the chance to inject anything bad. So all coming from there must be safe and a virus can impossibly come in.

No one mentioned Windows in this topic so I do not know why you brought it up. Also, there are men and women here. This is not a "bros" forum.

I personally have been using Linux Mint only a couple of years. I used Windows full-time for multiple decades before that. I've had to clean up Windows messes from bad updates and from viruses over those many years. It's not fun, especially when someone else created the mess.

linux wrote: Mon Sep 26, 2022 4:50 pm i bet you anything that the update manager will fail (as i've had sooo many problems with linux - fresh install)
In which step in which situation shall it fail according your bet? You speak in riddles and persuade for problems.
And why don't you simply do something instead of declaring, what you want to do? Fear, because the failure does not appear?
linux wrote: Mon Sep 26, 2022 4:50 pm i guarantee it!
How do you want to guarantee anything, if you have no proof for it.
linux wrote: Mon Sep 26, 2022 4:50 pm lets make a deal
Do you want to make deals or get help? In the first case visit a Online Casino. It is the right place to bet.

Back to the beginning of this thread:
You showed a screenshot and asked, if it is safe to apply. This is OK, if someone is unsure. You've got the answer. And what happened then? Normally the questioner would proceed with the (most likely since ages overdue) update, but you begin suddenly to bet, to guarantee and want to make deals. Sounds insane. :x

Your Windows mentality is at the heart of many of your problems. Stop treating Linux as simply a free version of Windows, adapt your thinking to a different way of operating, and you will find it all works very well.

PS. Please stop referring to everybody here as "bro". I am not your brother.
