Screen sharing

Post by Chriske »

Hi,

Is there a way to share screen between 2 laptops(UTP?). Now I install a second screen to have a mini-meeting.
Sometimes the share needs to go the other way.
Very handy in case of CAD drawing.
There's no need for file sharing, just the screen.

Thanks

Your post is not clear.

You have two laptops, and you want to use a third shared monitor?

Or you just want to collaborate with two laptops, no other hardware?

Sorry about the misunderstanding
No other extra screen involved. Just two laptops sharing screen.

A monitor, which is at the same time connected with 2 computer? Perhaps, if the monitor supports it.

There's a package in Software Manager called "Krfb" - is that the sort of thing you want?

I've not used it myself.

Oops sorry again if it was not clear.
I mean the other laptop should see on his screen what I see on mine.

Look in Software Manager for remote desktop. You will find Vinagre, Remmina, and others. Depending on the setup, you can share one desktop to the other. This can let you both edit the one file or control the one application.

I had a setup like that in LM 19 and both users could use their keyboard and mouse but not at the same time. I had both set to full screen. It was fast enough for editing still images but not video.
