Chromium not working after Upgrade (20.3 to 21)

Hi

Chromium is having GUI issuess after upgrading from Mint 20.3 to 21 (with mintupdater). See attachment for the screen I get.

What I have already done:

• Uninstalled (purged via apt)

• Removed the profile folder in /home/user/.config/chromium

• Reinstalled

• Tried both packages 'chromium' and 'chromium-browser'

All to no avail. What is the issue and how can I fix it?

Do any other browsers work?

Also there's no useful info there, copy/paste the text output of inxi -Fxxxrz run in the termnal.

Hi,

Can you try to launch chromium in command line, and then post the error messages, if there are?

You can try Chromium flatpak:
flatpak install org.chromium.Chromium

Hi all

I have solved the problem. I'm running firejail for application sandboxing. And chromium seemed to have an issue with one of firejail's chromium profiles.

I realized that I was running an older version of firejail (newest one not added to Ubunut apt repository yet). Updating to the newest version of firejail, by adding their PPA and re-running sudo firecfg solved the problem.
