Don't know what I did to cause this but somehow, as you could well imagine, I am having trouble running software updates and downloading new software with a blank (essentially) apt sources list.
How can I fix this ? I ran all of the maintenance options in either synaptic or from the updater icon and nothing was fixed.
Thanks

Did you run the Software Sources app, and it has this wide button there for "Restore the default settings"? -that's right on the first tab, Official Repositories.

Hello, brjoon1021.
Please, share the complete output, displayed by the terminal command
This command will display the content of your sources list files. The Brave source file will hold an error, I guess.
Mark the complete output with your mouse.
Press <Shift><Ctrl>c in order to copy the marked text.
Switch to your next reply here.
Click the icon [</>] in the forum editor iconbar. - This will insert a pair of [ code ] [ /code ] tags.
Click between the 2 tags and insert the copied text.
Thanks.
Karl

Re: 20.2 Cinammon apt sources list blank! please help
Hello, brjoon1021.
Your inxi output reveals that you have got 2 separate sources list files for the same Brave software repository:
The file brave-browser-release.list tells the signing key is located in the directory /usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg.
The file brave.list does not give a location. So the system assumes that the signing is in the directory /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/ or in the file /etc/apt/trusted.dpg.
Suggested solution:
Close Update Manager.
Disable the second file, brave.list, with the help of Software Sources.
Then launch Update Manager again and click [Refresh].
In case no more error messages are displayed related to Brave, the problem has been resolved and Update Manager should function properly again.
Regards,
Karl
