Window maximizing happens on wrong monitor

Post by mksh21 »

Good day, I have a laptop with a 2nd standalone monitor. Most of the time I watch videos on youtube, when I press on full screen in youtube, the video maximizes on another monitor and not on the monitor where I pressed the full screen button. Its just plain out weird.

Re: Window maximizing happens on wrong monitor

Post by jlselu »

I also have this issue, it's very frequent but I've not found yet the pattern to reproduce it on purpose.

What I know is that, to solve it, I need to de-maximize and re-maximize the browser window where the video is played (i.e.. youtube) and then when I double click on the video it will be maximized to the right screen

However is very annoying, I started experiencing it when I switched to a new laptop which as AMD graphics. I saw yours also has this, may it be related? I'm not sure because at same time I switched laptop I also installed the latest LM

If someone knows something about this issue please help!! :) thanks!

I think I got to reproduce this. Steps:
1.- Open youtube in a browser (testing with Firefox) and play a video
2.- Maximize the browser window in one screen and put the video in full display
3.- Demaximize the video and the browser window
4.- Move the window to another screen
5.- Maximize the window and put the video in full display (will work ok)
6.- Double click the video so it goes normal again (don't touch the window) and double click again to full display video
The result: video will be open in other screen, from there if you try to do from full display to normal size video, it'll always jump to the other screen till you demaximize and maximize the browser window again

Pushing this up, I'd like to know if some user with LM21 and Nvidia can replicate this issue following the procedure above or only afects AMD users

[SOLVED] Window maximizing happens on wrong monitor

Post by jlselu »

Actually I found a solution for this while searching for other topic

Go to Settings > Windows > Behavior and select that new windows are opened in Cursor and not Automatic. This will make this issue disappear

I can edit the main post title but if the OP reads this please edit the title to Solved

PS: To be honest, is not really solved, it's a workaround, but...

I have the same issue with LM21 and Nvidia. Setting new windows to cursor did not fix the problem for me.

I experienced it once yesterday, so still happens but I have to say that happens way less than before the change mentioned above of New Windows on Cursor
