I have just started seeing a dialog box pop up when I click on a link and I don't know what the problem is.
It's new, or by some huge co-incidence I have never come across this situation in 3 years of using mint. My inbuilt techno intuition is telling me that somewhere there are apps configured to launch from URLs, but not where to find the config

What is that link? A URL? A soft link?I have just started seeing a dialog box pop up when I click on a link
Where is that link located? In an e-mail?
Can you share that link?
Re: No apps installed that can open ....
Pretty sure that dialogue box isn't being generated by Mint. What browser are you using?
And, yeah, it's a clean site. Which link provokes the box?

What browser are you using? Could there possibly be a BHO? Might be worth uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, or another browser.

Yes that was an HTML email in Evolution and from looking at the source code, I'm not sure I'm looking at the right HTML because floating the mouse cursor over the link image causes a tooltip saying "go to beginning of email" but I can't see that text in the source.
The actual link that I get from right-clicking the link and "copy link" is:
This is the source HTML which is at the end of the source HTML, corresponding I think to the visual link I am clicking on at the end of the email:
This all casts suspicion on Evolution, but I have problems in Firefox with zoom links as well, producing the same dialog.
