Bit Torrent behind proxy

Is there any way to make a bit torrent client work behind a HTTP proxy?? I have read a lot of stuff on the net but dint understand much.

Basically you can't. Bittorrent uses non http connections.
With a lot of work and much expertise you may find a way. It is however way outside what we can help with (at least me)
