[SOLVED] Convert .WV audio files...?

Post by sdim »

Hi,everyone.
Does anybody know how I can convert .WV audio files (probably WavPack...) into .mp3 's?
Which converter? Does it need any extra plug-ins?
Many thanks.

I think soundconverter can handle that. If it isn't installed by default you can find it in Package Manager.

Thanks,but I don't think so.
There's no entry for the .wv (wavpack) format.

Try Traverso, you should be able to get it in Synaptic

Many thanks for the answers.
After installing Traverso I managed to encode into .wv,but when I tried to encode the .wv into .wav or other formats,it didn't happen.
The ffmpeg codec gave me the idea to look it up in Audacity.Indeed,I installed the ffmpeg library in Audacity, and encoding/decoding from and to .wv,worked fine.

WV is a relatively small, high-quality, and lossy file.

I recommend you Bigasoft Audio Converter Which is a nice WV Converter provided for both Mac and Windows users. It can also be called WV to MP3 Converter, WV to WAV Converter, WV to FLAC Converter, WV to APE Converter, WV to WMA Converter that easily convert WV to MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, WMA, OGG, AC3, AIFF.

Hope it can help u!!
