quirkiness after upgrade

Post by daniel49a »

have noticed a couple of things since upgrading to mint 9.
when I minimize an application now it usually just disappears as opposed to going down to the taskbar.
also none of the wine applications I backed up and reinstalled with mintbackup seem to be working.
anyone else or just me?:-)

I don't know about the Wine issue. But if when you minimize an app and it seems to disappear you might want to check your panel(s) to make sure the Window List applet is running some where, or that it isn't minimizing to a different desktop.

Also, mintBackup is a tool for backing up data, not applications (unless you're backing up your apt list).

yes I backed up the home folder restored it, and backed up the application list and restored it. and the applications installed before with wine no longer seem to work.

OK i added window list applet in and it gives me a button , instead of just vanishing.
thx.
funny though how basic functions like the start menu, and a window list were there at installation and vanished after restoring backup.
