I came across this the other day, may be worth considering, depending on your requirements.

I downloaded gThumb, F-Spot, Shotwell, ... and some other one I can't remember right now. Of them all I preferred gThumb for it's speed and reliability. F-Spot was a bit flaky for me (though some people report no stability problems), I can't remember what my problem with Shotwell was - but I remember thinking 'Well if it can't do THAT then I'm definitely not using it'

I heard mixed reports on Picasa, and when I saw the download size... well, for my netbook it took up too much space.

I'm liking gthumb just fine, though it doesn't save any preferences, like confirm deletion or file sorting. Does anyone else have this issue in Mint 10?
