Opera keeps nagging me to upgrade to 10.62 - currently 10.10 which is the version that shows up in Synaptic despite reloading.
Having downloaded 10.62 would it be an "offence" to install it?

Re: Opera upgrade to 10.62?
I have had no issues installing Opera from the Opera website, however, YMMV!

Thanks. So have I but some distro purists consider this be naughty!

If you don't want Opera "nagging" at you, you could've just added Opera's repo to your sources.list and be done with it. And you'll automatically get updated packages directly from Opera (through APT and mintUpdate) so you don't have to hunt then down and install them yourself.

The Linux philosophy is freedom of choice.

Job done!
But, in my experience, Opera adds itself to the repos but new versions do not necessarilly show up in SPM even after reload - sometimes for a reason!
