Complete Uninstall of Firefox? [Mint10]

Post by knuckles »

Hi,

I question is short. I will use Chromium as Browser, after I do not need a second Web-Browser.
But I can't uninstall Firefox completely. When I uninstall Firefox >> abrowser get installed. If I uninstall abrowser >> the system reinstall Firefix automatically ...

So what can I do to uninstall Firefox completely?

thanks in advance
Daniel

Like the last post on the "bug" thread it isn't a bug but a package dependency.

Code: Select all

 aptitude remove xulrunner-1.9.1 xulrunner-1.9.2 -s
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  xulrunner-1.9.1 xulrunner-1.9.2
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 2 to remove and 3 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B of archives. After unpacking 40.4 MB will be freed.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
iceweasel: Depends: xulrunner-1.9.2 (>= 1.9.2.10) but it is not going to be installed.
google-gadgets-xul: Depends: xulrunner-1.9.1 but it is not going to be installed.
instantbird: Depends: xulrunner-1.9.1 but it is not going to be installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

     Remove the following packages:
1) google-gadgets-qt
2) google-gadgets-xul
3) iceweasel
4) instantbird

Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]

This is on Debian but should be close to what would need to be removed to remove Firefox. Some browser plugins will probably have to be removed, then reinstalled as well especially flash and java.
