Firefox 2.0.0.6 locks up Linux Mint 4.0 (Solved?)

Postby dswaim91 » Tue Nov 20, 2007 5:06 pm

This problem with Firefox 2.0.0.6 locking up my entire 4.0 desktop is becoming quite annoying. I already tried to find a newer version in the ubuntu "proposed" repositories, but none is to be found. Does anybody know of a fix for this problem? Thanks

Update: This happened to me while using epiphany as well. I use an nvidia 7300LE video card but used Envy to install drivers instead of the restricted driver manager. I have reinstalled Mint and used the restricted driver manager to enable 3d drivers. I think this was the problem because my whole system would just lock up forcing a reboot. So far, all is well.

Try raising the cache level to 200 or so.

Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Network (under Cache section)

I forgot to mention that I have also noticed this on Kubuntu 7.10.
