Broken packages

Post by theyummyfood »

I just installed LMDE for the first time after a good bit of time with the standard release, I wanted to try something new. The installation went fine but when I boot into it there are a tone of things messed up. most of the programs are crazy buggy even synaptic crashes all the time so I tried a update to see if that would help. But that did not work because it says that there are broken packages so it will not update. I told synaptic to run the package repair thing but to no avail, what else can I do I would really love to not have to reinstall any input would be great.

That is because the Mint Update doesn work in the Debian version. I do not know the exact line for it but it can be done in Terminal. Google might be a source.

I do this in a script to keep up todate:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Thanks they really should fix that, the software manager is terrible in the LMDE it crashs like nuts so I uninstalled it and now just use synaptic package manager.
