Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
Did you have the normal list of PPA available to add? I only seem to have a few.
Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
No, I noticed that it had a shorter list than did Natty 11.04. Handbrake was one I noticed that was missing.
Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
What has that to do with Ubuntu Tweak? It's good manors to start a new thread for a new topic, rather than derail an existing one.poetofzwan wrote:Did you have the normal list of PPA available to add? I only seem to have a few.
Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
Poetofzwan may have just meant when they installed ubuntu tweak it didn't seem to have the normal lengthy amount of PPAs you'd normally find in it (such as from 10.10). Just a guess, but I suspect they weren't hijacking the thread, just asking a question about the OP's experience adding it to Mint.ThistleWeb wrote:What has that to do with Ubuntu Tweak? Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
I did not find Ubuntu Tweak on Software Manager so I went to http://ubuntu-tweak.com/ and downloaded the .deb file from there. Installing with Gdebipoetofzwan wrote:Did you have the normal list of PPA available to add? I only seem to have a few.
I too am not real sure how to get the extensive list of PPAs I had with Ubuntu 10.10 and I am being very cautious about "untrusted sources".
PS: I am now in the process of reinstalling Mint11 and getting my setup back... sure glad I created 3 separate swap, /, and /home folders!

He's probably referring to the same problem I am having with Ubuntu Tweak. There is almost nothing that shows up in the Source Center, except for:ThistleWeb wrote:What has that to do with Ubuntu Tweak? That's it. If I had to guess I would say that it has to do with Ubuntu Tweak seeing the OS as "Linux Mint 11 Katya" rather than "Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal" but I don't know for sure, and I don't know why that should matter. It's the same, whether I run UT regularly, or run it as root.
Here's a screenshot:
Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
same issue here, just booted over to U11.04 and got dozens of hits... maybe UT is protecting us from PPAs that will futz up our installs.M4570D0N wrote: << snip >>

Re: Ubuntu-Tweak
This tool is called Ubuntu-Tweak, not Mint-Tweak. Since Natty many things you are accustomed to won't work that well with Mint 11 (please read the release notes and especially the natty flaws).
