Compiz: Maximumize doesn't work in Mint 11

The subject says it all: On Mint 11, I can't get Maximumize to work. All other plugins I am using seem to work fine, but Maximumize doesn't use the whole vertical space available -any thoughts?

have you checked in compiz config settings under maximise/reserve space. reserve space may be in window placement i forget.
