Updating firefox

Post by arjot »

Hey guys
I am having a problem with updating firefox from the repos.
I got firefox 4.0.1 right after the release but I haven't got firefox 5 via updates until now.
Please any body can tell me the reason for this?

[Edit] your original post and add [SOLVED] once your question is resolved.

You can also get nightly builds from the information below:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-next

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get upgrade

Please mark this forum as solved as you noted in the above post.

For people on Mint XFCE, I went to a command prompt and ran:

sudo /opt/firefox/firefox

And then went through to Help >About Firefox and let it do its thing.

I figured it was better than doing alt-F2, since the open terminal window reminded me that I wasn't running FF as my normal login.
