Mint Daryna 32 and pps files

Postby ElZorro » Sat Dec 29, 2007 8:06 am

Hi team,
I have been getting some nice pps files with sound, but open office impress will not play sound integrated into pps files. This is Ooo 2.30.
I tried Ooo 2.31 in windoze XP, and it played and automagically advanced slides with music from the soundcard of the included song.
So I wonder why this cannot be achieved in Mint 4.0.
I tried to config Ooo, no luck at all and no soundcard options.
Perhaps the Ooo2.3.1 package will be better.
Best
And Happy New Year

Oh well,
not a peep about this one, but --- as one of my pps's sings in Windoze along with lots of eye candy-----'now it is Chrismas, and another year done'----.
I installed all the likely extras in Ooo.2.30 via Kpackage, including Gnome stuff, with no improvement--- (Yes I am running KDE, as I prefer it, on top of Mint 4.0 with the Kubuntu-Desktop,---perhaps this contributes to the problem--).
I downloaded Openoffice.org 2.3.1 tar.gz, but it expanded into a dogs breakfast of deb files, that reckoned they were a downgrade from 3.0.
So beats me; perhaps I'll have to direct enquiries to Openoffice.org, but I am not holding my breath!
Sloan lan
and
Happy new year to all
