Post by harleyguy469 »

Hello all, Can any one please tell me what I need to do to get software installed for this camera? I am running Mint 11. Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about Windows software that came on a CD with the camera, it is unlikely for it to work. Is that the case? or are you trying to get the camera recognized by Linux Mint when you plug it in?

It should already be working, if you install a APT like cheese or guvcview they should find it for you.

I have a Lumix DMC-FZ8 and I just plug it into a usb port and it comes up has an external hard drive in LM 11 Katya. As for the windows apps on trhe cd's, your welcome to try them under wine, but you'll probably want the native Linux apps.
