Mint 12 RC - mintinstall still shows "not installed" after

Post by craigus »

successful installation. One thing that has always bugged me about mintinstall is that after a package has been successfully installed, mintinstall continues to show "not installed" rather than changing to "installed" with a remove button, until that package is searched for again.

This is counter-intuitive and likely to cause naive users to think that the installation was not successful. In fact, every user I have ever introduced to Mint has commented on this.

You might want to post this an idea on the community site?

Software Manager Not Refreshing after install or remove

Post by mintystark »

Why doesn't it automatically refresh after it's done.

Everything works fine, but it is extremely anoying.
The progress bar loads to 100% then back to 0%, but the item still shows as not installed.

I am currently using LMDE with XFCE.
However I noticed the exact same issue with LM 11 XFCE.

On both installations I thought maybe I didn't have the most upto date, so I have run all Updates and upgrades.
I even uninstalled Mintinstall and re-installed it. Still doesn't refresh.
