Mint Update Speed Issues
The rest of my internet is working fine but mint update is like 1kb/s???? how do i fix this.... i have over a 100 updates to install but at this speed it is nigh on impossible.... whats the problem and how do i fix it. cheers liam. im running linux mint 12

The problem is that when there is something exciting happening, like a new release, the Mint servers get clobbered (too many people requesting downloads for the servers to handle smoothly.) Torrents can be a great solution which you might want to look into.
You might also find that things work better now. Clem posted on the blog that they just added a nice, new server to try to relieve the bottleneck.
