Firefox media not playing

I'm using Mint 12-64 and Fireox has stopped playing video/audio files such as on news programs and Youtube. Banshee and VLC play my hard drive media files. I think this started after an update to Firefox version 9.0.1.
A second pc has M12-64 still with Firefox 7.0.1 and is OK. The 8 plug-ins on both are the same and all enabled.

Help, please.

Yup, me too! I've had to flick over to Chromium for now.
