Mint 20 does not recognize monitor sound over display port

Post by jvzanatta »

Hello

I have Mint 20 and a laptop with GTX 1060. Sound on my monitor always worked fine but a while ago it just disapeared from the options, leaving me with the laptop sound only.

I went over several topics here but could not fix it. Tried some of the most common fixes but no luck. Hopefully someone with more experience can shine some light over this issue. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Below some logs that might be helpful:

Do you recall about when that happened?

Might it have been when you switched from the Nvidia-450 to the Nvidia-460?

There were some alsa updates over the past month, but I do not know if that is the time period it disappeared.
