SoundBlaster AE-5 Headphones selection not working

Post by MonitorZero »

The sound setting in mint does see that I have a 5.1 system and the HP plugged in. 5.1 works great but the headphones does nothing when selected.

Troubleshooting so far..
I rebooted with just the headphones plugged in
Used pulseaudio to make sure it was visable and able to be fully selected. (it can be and shows audio in the visual feedback but no sound through the HP)
Removed pulseaudio config and sent pulseaudio -k to rebuild
Tried turning off and on HP/Speaker auto detect with no results

So I can play through the speakers of my AE-5 when selected in the Mint Sound options, I went into alsamixer all the way to the far right and can change output selection to Headphones and it works!

Problem is it's still the 5.1 profile but if I select the headphones from the sound settings in mint with alsa up I can see that it does change to the headphone profile as it should.

I believe these are the outputs needed but not too sure if they'll format correct. New to the forum
