FLAC and MP3 questions

Postby pirates4fan » Sun May 13, 2012 2:23 pm

Is it just illegal to download mp3 music files? Can I legally download music from youtube and mediafire sites in FLAC files? Does FLAC have copyright on the files?

I have read on a website, that mp3 files aren't to be used in Linux, is that true? Is it because of the copyrights? Thanks.

Linux is friendly to all sound and video codecs. Linux mint comes with the ability to play just about everything out of the box.

As far as downloading copy protected files most providers (even iTunes) no longer apply copy protection as long as you pay for it.
