problems with compressed flash? libavformat?

Postby jgsack » Mon Mar 17, 2008 3:17 am

Most flash works fine (4.0) but one site has ".flv" files that are reported by mplayer as compressed flash, possibly failing because of missing libavformat.so ?

Hers's a sample of a video that doesn't play for me:

Can anybody
1) confirm my problem
2) suggest a fix

Thanks,
..jim

I use the noscript plugin - I really recommend using it.
I found that data comes from several sites so that may be part of the problem
It did not play for me - just stopped and said "Ready"

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Some additional information.

It's probably not mint.
I found that the url available from the "copy url" item in mplayer's right-click menu, works in the browser location bar!
And the flash plays as expected in the already installed flash plugin.

I suspect:
a) probably a site problem with non-standard javascript
b) possibly browser? or mplayer-dispatch problem with this particular flv (type or protocol)

Still a puzzle, but not a problem.
