Importing VR MOVIE.VRO

Postby zmikeo » Fri Apr 18, 2008 6:22 am

I have a sony DVD camcorder and so far have been unsuccesful at importing the VR MOVIE.VRO file.
None of the Movie players I have tried so far have been able to do it, they just close down, I have KINO installed but that can't seem to do it either.

Have you tried mencoder?
If all else fails... http://media-convert.com

Used the mencoder but that didn't help and the Media-convert says the file is to big as it sees the camcorder clips as a whole which makes it 1.2GB.

I have just copied and pasted the file and now Kino seems to be importing it, though it may take a while.
I will get back to you if this doesn't work :D

I had to give up with Kino as it just went on and on for hours ( at least 3 hours ) and didn't get anywhere,
None of the other media viewers I have at moment can open the movie file, surely I won't have to put it on my windows xp as that sort of defeats the purpose !
I shall change my Camcorder to record in Video and not VR mode to see if that makes a difference, but that won't help me with the video that I already have.

Just tried VLC, as soon as it tries to open the file the program closes.

Any way to see if the file is OK - can you play it in the camcorder? (I think this should be possible)
