Hi,
I'm using Mint Linux 14 and the onboard soundcard/speaker. I'm trying to find a way to control the volume from the command line/cron, so that users can't turn the volume up too loud.
Anyone got any ideas around this?
Many thanks,
Simon

Re: Forcing volume to a certain level?
If it's for work machines, ok, but it's not going to be very helpful if it's for a home machine. Videos are notorious for having wildly differing volume levels. Nevertheless, this is what you need:
Code: Select all
amixer --help
