Pulseaudio Jack Bug Fix

Postby maciimacii » Thu May 16, 2013 11:42 pm

There is a Pulseaudio Jack bug in some Mint/Ubuntu distros, including Mint 14.

Jack won't work properly with Pulseaudio and choppy sound and other problems can occur.

The solution is to disable Pulseaudio by placing a client.conf file in the /home/.pulse directory containing

autospawn = no
daemon-binary = /bin/true

or use pasuspender for temporary Pulseaudio disabling.

Mint uses Pulseaudio for the system sound and disabling Pulseaudio also disables the Mint Desktop sound configuration, so Alsamixer or Gnome-Alsamixer has to be used for sound configuration instead.

Also, redirecting Pulseaudio to Jack might be another option http://askubuntu.com/questions/100862/r ... 441#290441
