I can only watch DVD's if set at fullscreen and i dont touch the mouse.

If in windowed mode all i get is the sound and no picture, if in full screen i get normal playback until i move the mouse then the screen goes completely blank - but i can still interact with the menus!

any ideas?

Odd - which player and which Mint

its in elyssa, and it happens with totem player.

VLC can play dvd's fine in fullscreen but has the same problem when windowed - plus VLC wont play any home DVD's insisting they are audio tracks!


That being said it could just be my laptop, im going to try installing elyssa on my desktop and see what happens.

Do you have Compiz enabled -at all-?

yes compiz was installed, no need to worry though downgraded my laptop to daryna as that worked.

my desktop seems to run elyssa fine though, very strange

must be hardware related
