Postby hectorsales » Mon Sep 23, 2013 8:42 am

Hi, on my system (Linux Mint 13 Mate) I have not installed the codec package ubuntu-restricted-extra or non free codecs (medibuntu repository) .. Should I install it?.

Thanks ...

I never installed it and it's not really needed. I do remember that when I tried to installed the same packages when I tried Mint the first time, that it also marked some packages for removal which were "standard" Mint packages. I don't think the Ubuntu-restricted package is required since Mint does have all the needed/required multimedia packages installed by default.
