There is no way to get reliable information about a laptop on the net
Please run lspci in a terminal and post the result here
And is it the main edition?
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

hi... I have an Acer Aspire 5050 latop, and when i got into linux (first OpenSuse 10, then Kubuntu 8.04 and now Linux Mint 5) i had no sound from integrated speakers, but it was ok from headphones output. If this is your case, the problem is solved adding the Surround chanel to the alsa mixer, couse for some reason, speakers are in this one.
For enabling this channell, just double click in the volume control icon in the right dow corner so the mixer configuration window is opened, then go to Edit->Preference and enable the Surround channell.
Well... hope this can help u.....
