Latest linux mint with cinnamon here. Using SB X-Fi soundcard
I've looked into pulse audio control and I cant seem to see any loopback forced in the recording tab.
I opened alsamixer and if I drop the "PCM" bar down to 0 on recording theres no loopback but also no volume out of my mic.
I'm kinda new so I dont know how to stop this, it makes skype and stuff unusable since every hears themselves forever. (I use discord but same thing)
Microphone input is recording sound output.

You might try pavucontrol.
Did you try using F4 in alsamixer to go to the capture tab?
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install pavucontrol

I guess my issue is just too unique to have any info about it online where it seems to be a 100% forced loopback that I can't get rid of.
I just started using onboard audio for the mic, its shit quality and has a soft buzz to it, but at least it doesnt loopback my audio.
